Cloudcast for a cloudy day

A 45 minute mix rather than a radio show this week with a dozen songs and no chat in between. From the song titles, you can see that I was inspired by the very wet weather we're currently having here in Lancashire. Enjoy! (the music, not the weather)

Chas Ambler - My City Home
Kate Bush - Under Ice
The Existence of Harvey Lord - Where The River Runs Slow
Angie Palmer - Time of Thunder
Moll Baxter - Weatherman
Carole King - Out In The Cold
John Rigby - If I Had A Boat
Crosby Stills & Nash - Shadow Captain
Paul Levy - On The Hill
Martha Wainwright - Niger River
Ottersgear - Where Ottersgear Lies
Kami Thompson - Stormy

Book update

After a period of inactivity on the book, I've now done some more editing and feel it might just about be finished. My wife Sam does proofreading as part of her job so had a look through my manuscript and confirmed what I had suspected - namely that the second last chapter needed some more work and the final chapter was rather disjointed and not nearly as good as the earlier part of the book.

In light of this I made the decision to scrap the final "Folk Years" chapter and have deleted some and re-written other parts of the preceding chapter. So the book now covers the years 1981 to 1999. This then leaves some of what I'd written left over for what could be the start of my next writing project.

I have signed up to the Smashwords web site with a view to publishing in various electronic formats with them. I found them via Steven Baxter's excellent book "Musings of a Monkey" based on his blog at enemiesofreason.co.uk

So the next steps are to format the text for e-publishing, re-do the cover design and that'll be about that. Then hopefully I might be able to sell a few copies!

PS In case you're wondering what the book includes, the final chapter covers some of the concerts I went to between 1991 and 1999 and features the likes of Manic Street Preachers, Smashing Pumpkins, Iggy Pop, The Cramps and Hugh Cornwell.
